About Deniz Ficicioglu
As an experienced innovation manager and accomplished author, Deniz has published two cookbooks (Trias Verlag, Eichborn Verlag) and researched the future of food while working at various food start-ups (KitchenStories, HERMANN’s). Currently, she is focused on restoring the maritime ecosystem through her work at BettaF!sh, where they convert zero-input seaweed from Europe into a commodity for the food industry. This not only creates a new category of maritime foods, but also increases biodiversity in the ecosystem. Their flagship product, BettaF!sh TU-NAH, is an affordable plant-based alternative to tuna that is made from seaweed, and aims to revolutionize the $42 billion tuna market globally. Deniz's name, which means "the sea" in Turkish, makes her a natural fit for her role at BettaF!sh.
